The scheme “Annapurna Yojana” implemented by the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal aims to provide assured monthly financial assistance to eligible women residing in the state for their empowerment and socio-economic upliftment. Under the scheme, eligible women receive ₹3,000/- per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The financial assistance is credited directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the beneficiary. Existing beneficiaries of the "Lakshmir Bhandar" Scheme are migrated to the "Annapurna Yojana" subject to prescribed conditions. Online application facilities for new applicants are available through the Annapurna Yojana Portal from 1st June, 2026.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must be a woman.
  • The applicant must be aged between 25 to 60 years,
  • The applicant must not be in any permanent government employment getting regular salary/ pension under the union or this state government, any statutory body, government undertaking, panchayat, municipal body, local body; teaching or non-teaching employment under this state government's aided educational institution, etc.
  • The applicant must not be paying any Income Tax.

> Notes:

  • All the existing beneficiaries of the "Lakshmir Bhandar" Scheme shall be migrated to the "Annapurna Yojana" except dead, shifted, deleted, and absentee electors identified during SIR-2026, deletion in the 2™ list after publication of draft list, deleted after adjudication, ASDD found during voter slip distribution.
  • Beneficiaries who have filed an appeal before the SIR Tribunal/applications under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act shall get financial assistance under the New Scheme till disposal of their applications. Likewise, names of dead and shifted beneficiaries will be deleted in the future on a regular basis.
