The scheme aims to provide accommodation support and reduce dropouts for ST students from remote areas, by offering a stipend per day (including LPG and upkeep) for those in hostels.

The scheme "Boarding House Stipend" by the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, aims to provide accommodation to ST boys and girls in hostels from remote areas, provide residential facilities to ST students whose residence is beyond 3 km of the school, and reduce dropout rates. Through this scheme, a Boarding House Stipend per day per student (inclusive of LPG subsidy and sweeping/cleaning allowance per day) is provided, covering up to 322 days (approximately 10 months) in an academic year to students from Class I to XII accommodated in Government-run hostels and approved NGO-run boarding houses. The scheme is implemented by the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura.

> Objectives:

• To provide accommodation to the ST boys and girls in the hostels hailing from remote areas.
• To provide residential facilities to the ST student whose resident is beyond 3 km of the School.
• To reduce the dropout rate.

• The applicant’s residence must be the resident of Tripura.
• The applicant should be an ST student studying in classes I to XII.
• The applicant’s residence must be beyond 3 km from the school.
• The applicant must be accommodated in a Government-run hostel or an approved NGO-run boarding house.

• Boarding House Stipend at ₹ 65/- per day per student, covering LPG subsidy, and sweeping/cleaning at ₹ 1/- per day.
• Provided for 322 days per academic year (approximately 10 months) in an academic year to the students from Class-I to Class-XII who are given accommodation in government-run hostels and approved NGO run Boarding Houses.
