What this is

The Labor Department of Chhattisgarh started this scheme on March 4, 2010, under the "Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board" for female construction workers. Under the scheme registered female construction workers will receive benefits during pregnancy.

In detail

The Labor Department of Chhattisgarh introduced the "Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana" on March 4, 2010, through the "Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board." This initiative is designed to provide benefits to registered female construction workers during pregnancy. The scheme applies to both male and female beneficiaries who are registered and possess a beneficiary identity card at least 90 days before the scheme application date.

Note: The name of this scheme was changed from "Bhagini Prasuti Sahayata Yojana" to "Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana" on May 12, 2022.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh.
  • The applicant should be a woman worker.
  • The applicant should be registered Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  • The benefit will only be provided for only first two children.
  • The applicant should be registered as a construction worker 90 days in advance.

Note: In case of the death of the beneficiary female worker during delivery, the payment of the Assistance Scheme will be payable to her husband (full amount).

> A lump sum amount of ₹20,000/- will be provided to the registered female construction worker after the birth of the child.

  • Spouses of construction workers employed by public or government institutions.
  • Construction worker beneficiaries who lack valid membership with the Board.
