The scheme "Coaching for Higher Studies" was launched by the Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Government of Assam. The scheme aims to provide coaching to students of Tea Tribes and Adivasi community for preparing them for various competitive examinations like Civil Services, Medical, Engineering, Staff Selection Committee (Graduate level), Banking (Probationary Officers), etc. so that they are able to compete with other candidates and succeed. The applications for this scheme are accepted online.
Who qualifies
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- The applicant must belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community.
- The applicant must secure the requisite percentage of marks in the qualifying examination prescribed for the desired coaching, based on subject matter and on the available seats.
- For Undergraduate students who are preparing for medical entrance examinations, the applicant should be from the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.- For Undergraduate students who are preparing for engineering entrance examinations, the applicant should be from the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

Provision of coaching to students for preparing them for various competitive examinations like Civil Services, Medical, Engineering, Staff Selection Committee (Graduate level), and Banking (Probationary Officers), to enable them to compete with other candidates and succeed.
Who is excluded
A candidate who underwent coaching for any examination under financial assistance from this Directorate shall not be eligible for any other coaching in the same year.
