In detail

The scheme "Commemoration of Jubilees/Birth Anniversaries of Tiatr Artistes of Yesteryears" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to make our younger generation aware of the contribution and sacrifices of Tiatr artistes of yesteryears. The scheme provides for organizing functions to celebrate jubilee/birth anniversaries of deceased Tiatr artistes, including wide publicity through print and electronic media, display and garlanding of portraits, cultural programmes (tiatr and songs), and financial assistance along with provision of auditoriums/halls and additional amounts for village programmes. Applications for this scheme are accepted at least 30 days in advance on a "First come First Serve" basis, subject to the availability of funds.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must be an organizing institution or an individual.
  • The applicant must propose a programme to celebrate jubilee/birth anniversaries of artistes of yesteryears who are no longer living.
  • The applicant must ensure the programme aims to make the younger generation aware of the contribution and sacrifices of these Tiatr artistes.
  • The applicant must ensure the programme includes the narration of the history of the life of the late artiste to whom the programme is dedicated.
  • The applicant must ensure the family members of the deceased artiste are compulsorily invited for the function.
  • The applicant must give the proposal well in advance, providing all details of the programme, including typed script and lyrics to be presented, and the names of the artistes.
  • The applicant must insert/publish/announce "This programme is held in collaboration with Tiatr Academy of Goa" in all advertisements, whether oral, print, or electronic media, and on banners.
  • The applicant must display the Tiatr Academy of Goa’s banner on the front side wing of the stage if it is a Tiatr, and return it after all shows.
  • The applicant must display a banner of minimum size 6ft.x10 ft. carrying the Tiatr Academy of Goa’s logo as a back drop if it is a Musical Show.
  • The applicant must discuss with the Tiatr Academy of Goa and decide about the Chief Guest/Guest of Honour well in advance.
  • The applicant must ensure the President/Vice President of the Tiatr Academy of Goa will either be the Chief Guest or Guest of Honour at the function.
  • The applicant must ensure the duration of the programme is at least 2 hours.
  • The applicant must ensure there are no adverse remarks made in any form, either written or verbal, against any Government/Individual/Institution, etc., or anything against one’s caste, creed, and religion which may lead to hurting religious sentiments.

  • Financial Assistance: An amount as fixed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa.- Auditorium/Hall Provision: Provision of an auditorium or hall by the Tiatr Academy of Goa to stage the programme.- Additional Financial Assistance for Village Programmes: An additional amount as fixed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa for hall charges or stage erection charges if the programme is held in a village.- Programme Staging: A maximum of 4 shows at 4 different places, including 3 shows in Panaji, Margao, Curchorem, Vasco, or any other city, and 1 show compulsorily staged in the artiste’s area of residence.- Optional Additional Shows: An additional 2 shows may be granted for performance in villages only, subject to the availability of funds, at an amount (as fixed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa) plus an additional amount (as fixed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa) for Pandal/Hall/Auditorium including Stage, Sound, etc..- Publicity: Wide publicity will be given through print and electronic media.- Banner Provision: One banner for Tiatr performances, to be collected from and returned to the office of the Tiatr Academy of Goa, must be displayed on the front side wing of the stage.
