The scheme "Financial Assistance for Higher Studies" was launched by the Tea Tribes Welfare Department, Government of Assam. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance for students belonging to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community pursuing higher studies. The applications for this scheme are accepted online.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • The applicant must belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community.
  • The applicant must be pursuing higher studies such as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, and such other technical/higher education.
  • The applicant's family income must not exceed ₹5,00,000/- per annum.
  • The applicant should not be a Government Service holder.
  • Students studying through correspondence course are also eligible to apply.

  • The applicant eligible under this scheme will not be eligible for other schemes except for the scheme “Simon Sing Horo (Special Post-Matric) Scholarship,” if eligible, in the same year.
