In detail
The “Food Bill Assistance for Medical and Engineering Students of Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes” scheme was launched by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to reduce the burden of living expenses for students belonging to the Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes (NTDNT) communities who are pursuing full-time Medical or Engineering courses within the state. Under this scheme, eligible students receive a monthly food allowance of ₹1,500/- for up to 10 months each academic year to help cover mess or canteen expenses.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be a resident of Gujarat.
- The applicant should be a student.
- The applicant should belong to a Notified Tribe or De‑Notified Tribe (NTDNT) community of Gujarat.
- The applicant should be pursuing a Medical or Engineering degree course within the state of Gujarat.
- The applicant’s annual family income should not exceed ₹6,00,000/-.
