The scheme provides financial incentives worth ₹5,000/- to the meritorious girls from Scheduled Castes who have secured 80% or above marks in the HSLC examination. To objective is to motivate and encourage SC students to pursue higher studies and bring them at par with the rest.
In detail
The 'Financial Incentive to SC Meritorious Girls Students' scheme, administered by the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam, provides financial assistance to deserving girl students from Scheduled Castes (SC). Eligibility is extended to those who have achieved 80% or higher marks in the HSLC examination. The scheme's objective is to motivate and encourage SC students to pursue higher education, thereby fostering their academic parity with the broader population through a substantial incentive. Assistance is contingent upon the applicant satisfying the stipulated eligibility criteria and the successful submission of required documentation. An incentive of ₹5,000/- will be disbursed to students as approved by the Selection Committee.
The applications will be accepted through the myScheme platform from 04/07/2025 to 31/10/2025.

Who qualifies
- The applicant must be currently enrolled as a student.
- The applicant must be female.
- The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Caste (SC) community of Assam.
- The applicant must have secured a minimum of 80% marks in the HSLC examination held in 2025.
- The annual income of the applicant's parents/guardians must not exceed ₹5,00,000/-.
