The scheme "Facilitation of Large Size Godowns in APMC and Taluka-District Purchase Sale Union (General)" by the Agriculture and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to financially strengthen district and taluka-level cooperative purchase and sale unions across the state. The scheme is designed to help such unions undertake critical infrastructure projects, including purchasing, processing, grading, cleaning, packaging, storage, branding, and marketing of agricultural produce, which ultimately benefits the farmers with improved services and higher financial returns.

• Cooperative institutions operating at the taluka or district level within the state of Gujarat are eligible under this scheme.
• The institution should be registered under the appropriate cooperative society laws.
• The institution should have plans for setting up or expanding facilities like storage godowns, processing units, grading and packaging infrastructure, or branding and marketing systems.

• Financial Assistance: Provides crucial capital assistance for the construction of large-sized godowns. - Infrastructure Development: Supports the development of essential infrastructure for agricultural activities like processing, grading, cleaning, washing, shortening, packaging, and branding. - Enhanced Marketing Capabilities: Enables unions to strengthen their marketing and selling capabilities, potentially leading to better prices for farmers' produce. - Increased Financial Strength for Unions: Aims to make District and Taluka Purchase-Sale Unions more financially robust and self-reliant. - Improved Services for Farmers: Facilitates the provision of better quality services to farmers through stronger unions and improved facilities.
