In detail

The "Grant of Financial Assistance for Purchase of Textbooks/Notebooks to School-Going Children of Industrial Workers/Employees (GLWB)" is a Welfare Scheme by the Goa Labour Welfare Board, Department of Labour and Employment, Goa. It aims to provide financial support for the educational needs of children of industrial workers/employees. Through this scheme, children studying in classes 1st to 4th in recognized/approved schools are provided financial assistance for the purchase of textbooks/notebooks.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be a regular industrial worker/employee of the Goa Labour Welfare Board.
  • The applicant should have at least 6 months of continuous service.
  • The applicant should not be employed in supervisory or managerial roles earning ₹1,600/- and above per month.
  • The applicant should have wages/salary not exceeding ₹20,000/-.
  • The applicant should have children studying in classes 1st to 4th in recognized/approved schools.

  • Lowest income of the parents.
  • Preference will be given to the students studying in higher classes.
  • Workers having not more than two children will be given priority.
