The scheme provides financial assistance to institutions for organizing conferences in various fields of science and technology, management, and hotel management, including BBA, BCA and BMS institutions.
In detail
The scheme of "Grant for Organizing Conference (GOC)" is a grant scheme by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Higher Education (DoHE). The basic objective of the scheme is to bring academicians and experts from different parts of the country and abroad to share knowledge, experiences and research findings. This will provide an in-depth analysis of subjects and update the knowledge of the participants from academic/ research institutions.

Who qualifies
General Eligibility
- The applicant institution should be approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
- The applicant institution should have at least 8 years of existence.
- The applicant institution should organize conferences in approved technical or management disciplines.
- The applicant institution should preferably have National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredited departments.
- The applicant institution should possess in-house expertise in the proposed conference theme.
- The applicant institution should invite overseas participants for international conferences.
- The applicant institution should include at least 3 eminent national or international experts as keynote speakers.
- The applicant institution should organize conferences for a minimum duration of 2 days.
- The applicant institution should maintain a dedicated conference webpage.
Eligibility of Coordinator
- The applicant coordinator should be a full-time regular Associate Professor, Professor, or senior faculty member.
- The applicant coordinator should possess at least 10 years of teaching and research experience.
- The applicant coordinator should have research publications.
- The applicant coordinator should have organized:
- At least 3 conferences for international conference applications
- At least 1 conference for national conference applications
Eligibility of Co-Coordinator
- The applicant institution should identify a co-coordinator.
- The co-coordinator should possess at least 7 years of teaching and research experience.
- The co-coordinator should have organized at least 1 conference for international conference applications.
What you get
> Financial Assistance
Category A Conferences
- Financial assistance equal to one-third of the total conference expenditure.
- Maximum assistance up to ₹3,00,000.
- Applicable for conferences organized in AICTE pre-defined themes.
Category B Conferences
- Financial assistance equal to one-third of the total conference expenditure.
- Maximum assistance up to ₹2,00,000.
- Applicable for conferences in:
- Emerging areas
- Core engineering and technical disciplines
- Management and hotel management
- Multi-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and trans-disciplinary areas
> Conditions
- The conference duration should be at least 2 days.
- At least 3 eminent experts should participate as keynote speakers.
- At least 15% participants should be from other states.
- Papers from host institution should not exceed 10% of total papers.
- The approved conference should be conducted within 12 months from sanction.
- The institution can receive grant only once in 2 years.
- AICTE logo must be displayed in all conference materials and venue displays.
- Funds cannot be utilized for any purpose other than the approved conference.
> Mode of Disbursement
- Reimbursement basis after successful completion of conference.
- Released to the institution after submission and verification of required documents.
- One-time assistance per approved conference.
- The sanctioned conference must be conducted within 12 months from sanction letter.
