The objective of the scheme is to provide educational avenues to the students of Scheduled Castes families as well as enhancing the admission & retention percentage of such students in government schools. This scheme also reduces the drop-out rate of SC students and watches the welfare of such students. Under this scheme, one time allowance of ₹1,450/- is being given to all the Scheduled Castes boys as well as girls for purchase of stationery articles like geometry box, color pencils and stipend to be given to Scheduled Castes students studying in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalyas (KGBV) w.e.f the financial year 2014-15 at the same rates which the girl students studying in the Government Schools are availing according to their class / category. The rate at which the incentive amount has been kept to the students belonging to scheduled castes category is as follows:- • All the Scheduled Castes boys studying in classes IX-XII @ ₹250/- PM. • All the Scheduled Castes girls studying in classes IX-XII @ ₹400/- PM. • All the Scheduled Castes boys (Science Group) studying in classes XI-XII @₹400/- PM. • All the Scheduled Castes girls (Science Group) studying in classes XI-XII @₹600/- PM.
