The Haryana State Commission for Women was established under the HSCW (Haryana State Commission for Women) Act, 2012. The mandate of this commission is to provide safeguards, to implement the law related to women, to monitor the policies/ schemes for women and to recommend the necessary requirements for welfare of women. This Institute has no resources of its own and depends upon State Government Grants. The commission is a statutory body to recommend/ monitor the schemes run by other departments/ agencies/ institutions. In order to achieve the desired goals, the institutional mechanism needs to be strengthened at regular intervals, not only from infra-structural point of view but also from management perspective as well.
