Centre Share: `168,75,00,000/- State Share : `56,25,00,000/- This is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on 90:10 sharing basis between Centre and State for material component. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is being implemented in all the districts of Haryana State since 2008-09. The basic objective of the scheme is to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing atleast 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. The scheme is applicable only to rural areas. 1/3rd of the jobs are reserved for women. Rural household are to apply for registration with concerned Gram Panchayats. After registration, Job Cards are issued to the households by the Gram Panchayats. The payment of wages is being made on weekly or fortnightly basis. The contractors are banned under this programme. Under this scheme, the Ministry has provided a detailed list of 266 kinds of works/activities identified as permissible works, out of which 182 kinds of works relate to Natural Resource Management (NRM) alone, 85 are Water related and 164 of the total works are related to Agri and Agri-Allied works. Type/mode of Benefit- Wages of Rs. 400/- per day (DBT) w.e.f. from 1.04.2025 is given with 150 days employment guarantee in a financial year as fixed by the Centre Government. The outlay has been kept for the year 2026-27and this provision is required for the pending liabilities of MGNREGA. The Parliament has passed the historic Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. This Act is aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and replaces the existing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)
