National Horticulture Mission has a vital role for the holistic growth of the horticulture sector covering fruits, vegetables, root & tuber crops, mushroom, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa and bamboo. To make horticulture a profitable diversified farm activity in increasing income of the farmers by achieving potential productivity through sustained and advance technologies. The benefit has been given to all categories of farmers, one time through DBT. To avail the benefits of the scheme it is mandatory that the beneficiary should be landowner or taken land on lease. Under this scheme, funds in excess of the prescribed proportions as "Top-up" as extra State share in the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (60:40) The objectives of the Scheme are as under:- • To generate employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled manpower. • To meet out domestic demand of fresh fruits & vegetables. • To promote public-private-farmer-partnership in horticulture activities.
