It is being implemented since 1986-87 in Haryana. The conduct of Minor Irrigation Census is supervised by Minor Irrigation Statistics Wing of Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India. Six Minor Irrigation Censuses taking 1986-87, 1993-94, 2000-01, 2006-07 and 2013-14 and 2017-2018 as the reference years have already been conducted in the state. Now the 7th Minor Irrigation Census Reference year 2022-23 and 2nd Water Body Census and 1st spring is being taken up training cum workshop has been imparted at National Level in New Delhi. The training Cum Workshop to the field level staff will be imparted shortly after receiving the guideline of Ministry of Jal Shakti Government of India . The Honorarium is to be distributed to the field level staff for doing the work of six Minor Irrigation Census and first Water Body Census under the RIMS scheme. Objectives: 1. To take up studies regarding reconciliation of discrepancies in figures of area irrigated reported in the agricultural statistics and in periodical progress reports received from the State Government. 2. To coordinate statistics relating to minor irrigation projects on a quarterly and on annual basis .
