The objective of the scheme is to promote sustainable agriculture by extension through mass media in an integrated manner, subsidy component, awards to the outstanding farmers, villages and districts and other charges. There are two Centrally Sponsored Schemes Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and National Food Security Mission (NFSM), where subsidy is provided on the distribution of certified seed of the crops covered under the respective schemes. Subsidy is provided only on the certified seeds being sold to the farmers through sale outlets of Government/ Institutional agencies like Haryana Seeds Development Corporation (HSDC), Haryana Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (HLRDC), Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. (HAIC), Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED), Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (CCSHAU), National Seeds Corporation Ltd. (NSC), Haryana State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd. (HARCO) Bank, Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd. (IFFCO)/ Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Limited (IFFDC), Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) and National Fertilizer Ltd (NFL). The subsidy is equally admissible to each category of farmers. The subsidy will also be available in those districts which are covered under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) also. In order to strengthen the extension services by using print and electronic media and information technological support following steps are taken: a) To publish necessary material in print or electronic form. b) Regular issue of printed or electronic material, such as book or magazine (offered for distribution of Newspapers, Magazine, Pamphlets, Folders etc.) and prepare the material for electronic media (radio jingles, documentary films & TV programme etc.) will also be used for dissemination of the latest information and knowledge on a wide spectrum of topics to the farming community. Discussion on field problems and finalization of the package of practices in Agriculture Officer’s Workshop/Seminars before sowing of Kharif & Rabi crops, Agriculture Day/ Kisan Gosthies/Exhibitions, Awareness Camps and State/Districts level Kisan Melas are organized to create awareness among the farmers regarding the improved agronomic practices of Rabi and Kharif crops. The following Awards are taken in the Scheme for the outstanding Farmers of the Haryana (Districts and Villages level):- • Award to the Farmer having highest productivity • Award for outstanding /innovative Farmers. • Award to the outstanding Districts • Award to the outstanding Villages
