The Government of Haryana is making all efforts in providing social security to the senior citizens in the State. The percentage of persons above the age of 60 years among the total population is increasing. The joint family system has weakened and there is a marked trend in withdrawal of family support. It is the need of the hour to create such favorable conditions so that the senior citizens could spend rest of their lives with dignity and recognize their long services in various fields to the society in general.
