What this is
Under this scheme, a monthly pension of ₹1500/- is provided to persons with disabilities in the age group of 18 to 79 years who belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families to support them financially. This scheme is centrally sponsored.
In detail
The "Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension" Scheme was introduced by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Himachal Pradesh, to provide social security to persons with disabilities. The scheme covers disabled individuals aged 18 to 79 years who are members of selected families living below the poverty line. Eligible persons must have a certificate of severe disability (80% or more) issued by a medical board constituted under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
- The applicant should be a person with disabilities.
- The applicant should have a disability of 80% or more.
- The applicant’s age should be between 18 and 79 years.
- The applicant should belong to a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family.
What you get
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of ₹1,500/-.
