Under this scheme to support the grower groups / FPOs to establish grower group certification in order to prepare farmers on group formation, organic regulations, certification procedures, training, documentation, internal inspection etc. for organic certification and aggregation of the produce.
In detail
Under the scheme “Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion & Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom: Organic Farming – Internal Control System (ICS) (Nos)” of the Spices Board India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, support is provided to grower groups and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for establishing grower group certification systems. The scheme aims to prepare farmers through group formation, awareness of organic regulations, certification procedures, training, documentation, internal inspection, and other activities related to organic certification and aggregation of produce. This is implemented as per the modalities and scheme guidelines approved by the competent authority under the “Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion & Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom” during the 15th Finance Commission period (2021–22 to 2025–26).
Who qualifies
- The scheme is applicable to all spice-growing States, regions, and Union Territories (UTs) in India.
- The Spices Board India reserves the right to conduct checks at any stage of the chain of custody, either before or after providing assistance.
- An Internal Control System (ICS) is eligible to receive assistance a maximum of three times within the five-year block period from 2021–22 to 2025–26, either consecutively or in a staggered manner, subject to the availability of funds under the component.
Preference for Selection
Preference will be given in the following order:
- Grower groups/ICSs producing organic spices.
- Grower groups/ICSs in which more than 50% of the farmers in the approved farmer list are producing organic spices under any cropping system.
What you get
> 50% subject to maximum of ₹ 1,12,000/- for ONER groups and 75% subject to a maximum of ₹1,68,000/- for NER groups.
