Who qualifies

  • The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
  • The applicant must be a player aged 8 to 16 years.
  • In the case of amateur players, the applicant must be above 16 years of age.

  • The department conducts local training camps in all districts for various sports, including football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, cricket, wrestling, kho-kho, karate, kabaddi, wushu, taekwondo, basketball, handball, ju-jitsu, table tennis, lawn tennis, baseball, and sepaktakraw, with training provided at minimal fees.
  • The department operates Sports Colleges and Sports Hostels for sports such as football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, judo, and cricket, with admission provided at minimal fees.
  • A prize of ₹ 500/- is awarded for securing first position and ₹ 300/- for securing third position in state-level sports competitions.
