Under this scheme, the Board will provide a certain amount as leave travel concession to the registered construction workers for journeys to religious/ historical places in India or visiting their hometown.

Who qualifies

> For Registration as a Building/ Construction Worker:

  • The applicant should be a resident of Punjab.
  • The applicant should be a Building/ Construction Worker (Unorganised Worker).
  • The applicant should be between 18 and 60 years.
  • The applicant should have engaged in building and construction work for at least 90 days in a given year.
  • The applicant should have a monthly income of ₹15,000/- or below.
  • The applicant should not be a member of any other Welfare Fund established under any law.
  • The applicant should not have membership of the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)/ National Pension System (NPS)/ Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
  • The applicant should not be an income tax payer.

> For the Application of the Welfare Scheme:

  • The applicant should be a registered member Under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of Punjab.
  • The applicant shall be eligible for L.T.C. for journeys of religious/ historical places in India or visiting home town within the last two years.

What you get

  • Financial Assistance: An amount of ₹2000/- as Leave Travelling Concession (LTC).

> Note:

  • The benefit of L.T.C shall be granted after the return from the journey on submitting Self-declaration/ proof online through the Labour Inspector/Labour Enforcement Officer of the area or through the nearest Suvidha Kendra.
  • In the event of any incident during the journey, he will not be entitled to any compensation under this scheme.

Beneficiaries who are getting the benefit of LTC under any similar scheme from any other Govt. Department, will not be entitled for this benefit.
