The scheme “Marriage Assistance” was started by the Assam Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (A.B.O.C.W.W.B), Labour Welfare Department, Government of Assam. Under this scheme, financial assistance shall be given to the construction workers who are registered under A.B.O.C.W.W.B. for the marriage of their children. The assistance shall be for the marriage of two children of the beneficiary. A female registered member is also eligible for this assistance for her own marriage.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • The applicant should be engaged in any building & other construction work.
  • The construction worker should be registered with the Assam Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  • The workers having continuous membership for 5 years shall be eligible to get financial assistance under the scheme.
  • This assistance shall be for the marriage of two children of the beneficiary.
  • A female member registered under A.B.O.C.W.W.B is also eligible for this assistance for her own marriage.
