What this is

The scheme's objective is to promote youth entrepreneurship and employment in Meghalaya by supporting cinema theatres while preserving the state’s cultural heritage.

In detail

The Meghalaya Cinema Theatre Scheme is a component of the CM-ELEVATE Program launched by the Planning Department of the Government of Meghalaya. It aims to employ, engage, and empower the youth of Meghalaya by promoting entrepreneurship and providing easy access to credit through partnerships with various banks. The scheme offers financial support for establishing new cinema theatres or upgrading existing ones across the state. This initiative is designed to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Meghalaya through film and cinema, while also serving as community hubs for artistic expression and entertainment.
