What this is

This scheme aims to provide safe housing for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Extremely Backward Classes whose existing group housing under previous schemes has become broken down.

In detail

The "Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana" was introduced by the Rural Development Department, Bihar, to address the housing needs of beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Extremely Backward Classes whose cluster housing, built under previous schemes before January 1996, has deteriorated. As these families are ineligible for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana due to prior benefits, this scheme provides financial assistance in three installments directly to the beneficiaries' accounts for reconstructing their homes.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must belong to rural area.
  • The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Extremely Backward Class category.
  • The applicant must reside in a cluster housing scheme built under previous government programs before January 1996.
  • The applicant must have a house that is currently in a dilapidated condition.
