In detail

The “Maintenance of Govt Boys and Girls Hostels (SC)” scheme was launched by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. It aims to provide free residential facilities, meals, and educational support to scheduled caste (SC) students. Under this scheme, students who have passed class 10th and are pursuing further studies are accommodated in government-run hostels with free food, lodging, and academic resources.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  • The applicant must have passed class 10th (SSC) or higher from GSEB/CBSE.1. The applicant must be enrolled in a regular course in a college within the same district as the hostel.
  • The boy student's annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000. No income limit for girl students.
  • The applicant must have scored at least 50% marks in the last annual exam.
