Under this scheme, a Scheduled Tribe family receives 50kg of wheat or rice and cooking utensils from the Panchayat upon the birth of a child. In the event of a family member's death, the family is provided with 1 quintal of wheat or rice.
In detail
The "Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana" scheme, launched by the Tribal Affairs Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh on 02.10.2019, aims to provide ration-related assistance to Scheduled Tribe families on the birth of a child and the death of a family member. Under this scheme, a Scheduled Tribe family receives 50kg of wheat or rice and cooking utensils from the Panchayat upon the birth of a child. In the event of a family member's death, the family is provided with 1 quintal of wheat or rice. Additionally, ₹25,000/- is allocated to each village, deposited in the bank account of the Gram Panchayat Secretary, for purchasing utensils.
The scheme covers 20 identified tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh. Rice is provided in six tribal districts: Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Shahdol, Anuppur, and Umaria. Wheat is provided in the remaining 14 districts: Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Betul, Sidhi, Seoni, Chhindwara, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Sheopur.
Who qualifies
- The beneficiary should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
- The beneficiary should belong to the Scheduled Tribe category.
- The beneficiary should reside in a rural area.
- No family member should be employed in government service (Class 1/2/3) or hold a high-ranking post.
- The beneficiary must reside in one of the 20 identified tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh: Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Betul, Sidhi, Seoni, Chhindwara, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Sheopur.
Note: Benefits under the scheme are provided for the birth of the first or second child of the couple.
What you get
The scheme offers the following assistance to Scheduled Tribe families:
- Birth of a Child: Upon the birth of a boy or girl, the family will receive 50 kg of wheat and rice, along with cooking utensils, provided at the panchayat level. - Death of a Family Member: In the event of a family member's death, the family will receive 1 quintal (100 kg) of either wheat or rice.
Note: The food grains are provided to the beneficiaries free of cost.
