In detail
The "Madhya Pradesh Crime Victim Compensation Scheme" was launched by the Home Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It provides financial compensation and rehabilitation to crime victims or their dependents based on loss, injury, and financial status. Compensation covers death, permanent disability, acid attacks, sexual crimes, and serious injuries, with amounts including interim relief, medical assistance, and special provisions for minors and serious trauma cases.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be a victim of crime or a dependent of a victim who has suffered injury or loss due to criminal acts.
- The crime should have occurred within Madhya Pradesh. Victims outside the state but residing in Madhya Pradesh are eligible for interim relief.
- The applicant must report the crime without unreasonable delay.
- The applicant must cooperate with authorities in investigation and rehabilitation process.
- The annual income of the victim from all sources must not exceed ₹5,00,000. If it exceeds, compensation is limited to 50% of the prescribed amount.

Mode of Disbursement: Aadhaar-linked bank account
Frequency of Disbursement: Lump-sum or in two installments
Special Cases: Minor victims’ compensation deposited as fixed deposit, withdrawable only for education or medical needs
Who is excluded
- Cases covered under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 where compensation is awarded by Motor Accident Claims Tribunal
- Applicants responsible for causing the injury to themselves
