In detail

The “CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child (SGC)” scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and implemented by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The scheme aims to promote education among single girl children and encourage meritorious students to continue their studies. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to single girl students studying in classes 11th and 12th. It supports students who have demonstrated academic excellence in class 10th examinations and are enrolled in CBSE-affiliated schools.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be a single girl child of her parents.
  • The applicant should have secured 70% or more marks in CBSE class 10th examination.1. The applicant should be studying in Class 11 or 12 in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  • The applicant should have a tuition fee not exceeding ₹2,500 per month in class 10th.1. The applicant should have a tuition fee not exceeding ₹3,000 per month in classes 11th and 12th.1. The applicant should have gross parental/family income not exceeding ₹8,00,000 per annum.
  • The applicant should be an Indian National.
  • The applicant should continue her studies in classes 11th and 12th.1. All children born together (such as twins) are considered a single girl child.
  • NRI students are eligible and their tuition fee should not exceed ₹6,000 per month.
