The Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP), is a flagship program of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The objective of the programme is to increase the productivity of livestock by improving the genetic potential through artificial insemination.
In detail
The Madhya Pradesh government has launched a nationwide Artificial Insemination (AI) programme to improve the reproductive health of livestock and enhance the productivity of livestock. The programme is being implemented with the help of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, the Government of India and the National Dairy Development Board.
Through this programme, AI technicians will be trained at the district level and AI services will be provided to the farmers. The programme will focus on the use of quality semen and improved scientific techniques for better reproductive performance. The programme also aims to reduce the cost of artificial insemination for the farmers. The programme is expected to help the farmers to improve their income and the overall economic condition of the state
Who qualifies
- The livestock owner should be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- The applicant should have valid livestock registration documents.
- The applicant should have the required infrastructure to undertake AI operations.
- The applicant should not belong to any of the scheduled castes and tribes.
- The applicant should have the required knowledge and skill to undertake AI operations.
- The applicant should not have any prior criminal record.
