"Nari Adalat", a component of the "Sambal" sub-scheme under Mission Shakti, by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India aims to provide an alternate grievance redressal mechanism through counselling, mediation, and awareness to women and girls in need at the Gram Panchayat level. It also focuses on empowering women collectives to resolve disputes and promote access to justice in a community-based setting.

Who qualifies
> For Beneficiaries:
- The applicant should be a woman or girl seeking assistance.
- The applicant should be facing issues such as harassment, violence, or denial of rights.
- The applicant should belong to the local community within the Gram Panchayat jurisdiction.
> For Members (Nyaya Sakhis):
- The applicant should be a woman resident of the concerned Gram Panchayat.
- The applicant should be socially respected and active in community work.
- The applicant should preferably be an Elected Women Representative, Self-Help Group member, or professional (teacher, doctor, lawyer, social worker).

> Grievance Redressal Support:
- Provides an alternative dispute resolution platform at the local level.
- Addresses cases related to harassment, domestic violence, property disputes, and social issues.
> Counselling and Mediation:
- Offers counselling, negotiation, and mediation services.
- Ensures resolution through mutual consent and evidence-based approach.
> Awareness Generation:
- Spreads awareness about legal rights, government schemes, and entitlements.
- Conducts campaigns on gender equality and women’s rights.
> Community Support and Facilitation:
- Acts as a support system for women through handholding and guidance.
- Connects beneficiaries to institutions like police, hospitals, and legal services.
> Financial Support (Operational):
- ₹3,000/- per meeting (for the entire group) to cover logistics such as stationery, travel, and refreshments.
- ₹500/- honorarium to Mukhya Nyaya Sakhi per meeting.
- ₹200/- incentive to each Nyaya Sakhi per meeting.
- ₹800/- per member for uniform, provided twice a year.
