The scheme aims to achieve economic upliftment by providing self-employment with dignity. Through this scheme, loans for self-employment at an annual interest rate are provided to women beneficiaries of nomadic and denotified castes living below the poverty line.
In detail
The scheme "New Swarnim Yojana (For Women Only)" by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to empower women of nomadic and denotified castes living below the poverty line to achieve economic upliftment by getting self-employment with dignity. Under this scheme, women beneficiaries will be able to do business/occupation of their choice. The Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation implement the scheme.
Who qualifies
- The applicant must be a woman from a nomadic or denotified caste.
- The applicant's family annual income limit for income eligibility will be up to ₹3,00,000/- (with effect from 1/4/2018).
- The applicant's age should be at least 21 years and not more than 50 years as on the date of application.
- The applicant must have experience in a technical and skilled trade/business.
> Preference/Priority/Reservation/Relaxation:
> At least 50% of the total loan amount will be allocated for families having an annual income of up to ₹1,50,000/-.
What you get
- The maximum loan limit is up to ₹2,00,000/-.
- The interest rate will be 5% per annum.
- Under this scheme, 100% loan of the business/occupation amount is provided.
- The loan amount will consist of 95% National Corporation contribution, 5% State Government contribution and zero beneficiary contribution.
> Repayment: The loan amount, including interest, will have to be repaid in 60 equal monthly instalments.
