In detail
The National Talent Scholarship (NTS) is implemented by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) under the scheme "Strengthening and Development of Higher Agricultural Education in India". The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and allied disciplines who have secured admission through the All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) and are studying in an ICAR-funded Agricultural University located outside their State of domicile.
The scholarship aims to support meritorious students by providing financial assistance during their undergraduate studies. The scholarship is initially awarded for one year from the date of admission and is renewable for the remaining duration of the degree programme, subject to satisfactory academic performance and conduct as prescribed by the concerned university.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree programme in Agriculture or allied disciplines.
- The applicant should have secured admission through the All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) conducted for ICAR admissions.
- The applicant should be enrolled in an Agricultural University located outside his/her State of domicile.
- The applicant should be studying in an Agricultural University funded under the ICAR scheme "Strengthening and Development of Higher Agricultural Education in India".
Conditions for Continuation of Scholarship
- The student must maintain merit and good conduct as certified by the Head of the College/University/Institution.
- The student must attend classes regularly and not remain absent without prior permission.
- The student must not participate in strikes, agitations, or activities that disrupt academic studies.
- The student must pursue studies on a full-time basis and not undertake any part-time or full-time employment.
- The student must not receive any other scholarship or financial assistance during the course of study.
- The student must not leave the course within one month of admission.
- The student must not change the discipline/subject initially allotted for which the scholarship was awarded.
- The student must not change the University during the tenure of the scholarship.
- The student must secure a minimum OGPA/CGPA of 7.00 out of 10.00 at the end of the first year (6.50 out of 10.00 for SC/ST students).
- The student must clear all papers in every semester and appear in regular examinations.
