In detail
The scheme "Central Assistance for One Time Settlement of Displaced Families from PoK and Chhamb under Prime Minister's Development Package" has been launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and provides one-time financial assistance to displaced families of PoK and Chhamb settled in Jammu & Kashmir. aims to provide supplementary financial assistance so as to enable the families to run small business or to undertake scientific farming, livestock or other land-based activities, which can provide the displaced families some assured and sustained earning. The amount of assistance can also be invested in any annuity scheme, which can give an assured monthly income on a sustainable basis. The scheme will have a State share of ₹308 and a Central share of ₹5,49,692 per family, amounting to ₹5,50,000 per displaced family.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be the Claimant/Head of the Displaced Person (DP) family or his/her successor or heir residing within the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
- The applicant should belong to the overall category of 36,384 displaced families.
- The applicant should belong to any of the following categories:
- Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir 1947 Displaced Persons.
- Chhamb 1965 and 1971 (camp/non-camp) Displaced Persons.
What you get
- The applicant is provided with one-time financial assistance of ₹5,50,000 per displaced family.
- The assistance consists of:
- Central Government share: ₹5,49,692 per family.
- State Government share: ₹308 per family.
- The financial assistance can be used by displaced families for:
- Running small businesses.
- Undertaking scientific farming.
- Undertaking livestock activities.
- Undertaking other land-based activities for assured and sustained earnings.
- The assistance amount may also be invested in an annuity scheme to provide assured monthly income on a sustainable basis.
> Mode of Disbursement:
- The Central Assistance of ₹5,49,692 per family is transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by the Central Government.
- The State Government's share of ₹308 per family is transferred to beneficiaries through DBT.
