What this is

The scheme aims to encourage individuals to learn blowing instruments crucial for Tiatr music, such as Trumpet & Saxophone, addressing a decline in musicians. It provides financial assistance for tuition and instrument purchase, benefiting youth and other interested persons to preserve Tiatr music.

In detail

The scheme "Promotion of Tiatr Music" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to encourage youth and others to learn to play blowing instruments, particularly Trumpet and Saxophone, by providing them with financial assistance. The scheme provides financial support for tuition fees, a 50% subsidy on the cost of medium-priced blowing instruments such as Saxophone, Trumpet, or Clarinet, and opportunities for advanced certification from institutions like Trinity College or Royal School of Music. It also offers music classes at the Tiatr Academy of Goa's Conference Hall and awards certificates upon successful course completion. The applicant must identify a suitable tutor, purchase a blowing instrument, submit an undertaking to serve the tiatr stage, and undergo periodical tests. The scheme is implemented by the Tiatr Academy of Goa. The applications for this scheme are accepted by submitting the prescribed application form available at the office of the Tiatr Academy of Goa.

  • The applicant must serve the tiatr stage by playing in any tiatr band or musical group for at least one year after completion of the course.
