In detail
The “Purna Aahaara for Children (6 month - 5 years)” scheme is a component under the "Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana (MSPY)" scheme, implemented by the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Odisha. The scheme follows a community-based approach for the management of acute malnutrition and aims to provide nutritional support to Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) children. Purna Aahaara is an initiative erstwhile Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programme.
Who qualifies
- The beneficiary must be a resident of Odisha.
- The beneficiary must be a child aged between 6 months and 5 years.
- The child must be identified as Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) by an Anganwadi Worker or ICDS functionary.
What you get
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries are provided Take Home Ration (THR) of 3 kg per month, along with 30 eggs per month, for a duration of 112 days from the date of enrollment.
Note: Parents and caregivers are requested to have their children's growth monitored at Anganwadi Centre (AWCs) and take special care of them.
