Launched in 2003, the scheme "Study Abroad Scholarships" by the Tribal Affairs Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh covers tuition fees of 40,000 US Dollars per year, along with a living allowance of 9,000 US Dollars and a contingency allowance of 1,000 US Dollars. To be eligible, students must have passed the graduation final examination with at least 55% marks for postgraduate studies, and the postgraduate examination with at least 50% marks for Ph.D. The scheme provides scholarships to Scheduled Tribe students for pursuing higher education abroad.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be 35 years old as of 1st January.
  • The applicant should have an annual income limit of ₹10 lakhs.
  • The applicant should meet the course duration requirements:
  • Postgraduate – 2 years
  • PhD – 4 years
  • Research – 1 year 6 months
  • The applicant should have the following educational qualifications:
  • For Postgraduate: Must have passed the graduation final examination with at least 55% marks.
  • For PhD: Must have passed the postgraduate examination with at least 50% marks.
  • The applicant should choose the foreign educational institution for admission independently.
  • The applicant should be applying for a postgraduate or higher-level degree.
