The “Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar” scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the National Disaster Management Authority. The Government of India decided to institute an award to recognize the excellent work done by individuals and Institutions in India in the field of disaster management, like prevention, mitigation, preparedness, rescue, response, relief, rehabilitation, research/innovations, or early warning.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant should be an Indian national.
  • The institutions must be registered in India.
  • The applicant should be an individual or institution including voluntary organizations, corporate entities, academic institutions, or uniformed forces.
  • The applicant should have worked in disaster management fields such as prevention, mitigation, preparedness, rescue, response, relief, rehabilitation, or research.
  • The applicant should have demonstrated achievements in saving human lives.
  • The applicant should have contributed to reducing disaster impact on lives, livelihoods, and property.
  • The applicant should have mobilized resources effectively during disasters.
  • The applicant should have undertaken immediate relief work in affected areas.
  • The applicant should have used technology innovatively in disaster management.
  • The applicant should have worked on disaster mitigation in hazard-prone areas.
  • The applicant should have contributed to community capacity building and awareness.
  • The applicant should have developed or supported early warning systems.
  • The applicant should have contributed to research, innovation, and rehabilitation efforts.
