The "Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana" was launched by the Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority & Backward Class Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, & aims to ensure the holistic development of villages associated with tribal freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence. This scheme provides financial assistance & infrastructural development to Scheduled Tribes & Scheduled Castes residing in these villages.

Who qualifies

  • The shaheed should belong to a Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste.
  • The family should be residing in one of the selected Shaheed villages.
  • The shaheed family should live in a kutcha house and not have availed of benefits from any housing scheme in the last 5 years.
  • Priority will be given to descendants of freedom fighters from selected villages.

  • Establish libraries and provide sports resources in schools.
  • Solar lamps will be distributed to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste students under the "One Lamp One Child" initiative.
  • Infrastructure improvements, including piped water supply and cultural heritage enhancement.
  • Cooking gas connections for families under the "Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana".
