The scheme “Study in India Programme” has been launched by the Ministry of Education under the Department of Higher Education, Government of India. The scheme aims to position India as a global education destination by providing international students with a single centralized digital platform, access to quality institutions, and end-to-end admission and visa support for pursuing higher education in India.
> Scheme Implementation
The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Education in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs through the Study in India portal.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be a foreign national seeking admission in India.
- The applicant should have completed the required qualifying education as per course norms.
- The applicant should apply through the Study in India portal.
- The applicant should possess a valid passport.
- The applicant should meet academic and language requirements of the chosen institution.
- Indian nationals are not eligible under the Study in India Programme.
- Admissions outside the Study in India portal are not covered.
