Through this scheme, assistance for seed distribution, strengthening of seed quality control laboratories, and creation of seed infrastructure facilities are provided to all categories of farmers, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Farmers' Producer Organisations (FPOs), Co-operative enterprises, and Government enterprises.

Who qualifies

  • The applicant must belong to one of the following categories: all categories of farmers, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Farmers' Producer Organisations (FPOs), Co-operative enterprises, or Government enterprises.
  • The applicant must attach land records along with the application form.
  • The applicant must have their own bank account.

What you get

> Seed Village Programme:

  • Assistance will be provided for the distribution of foundation and certified seed required for a 1-acre area for cereal crops; the assistance covers 50% of the cost, and for pulse, oilseeds, green manure & fodder crops, the assistance covers 60% of the cost.
  • Validity: The maximum time limit for reclaiming benefits is 2 years.

> Strengthening of Seed Quality Control Laboratories:

  • Assistance is provided on a project basis.
  • Intended Use: For State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Farmers' Producer Organisations (FPOs), Co-operative enterprises, and Government enterprises.
  • Frequency of Disbursement: One time.

> Creation of Seed Infrastructure Facility (SPP):

  • Assistance is provided on a project basis.
