The "Mukhyamantri Nahri Kendra" was launched by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to empower tribal women by providing them with livelihood opportunities through women-run centers. These centers promote the sale of tribal dishes and home-made products, thereby improving income and living standards. Under this scheme, tribal women-run groups receive a subsidy covering 50% of project costs and the remaining 50% as a loan at a concessional interest rate.

• The applicant must be a woman.
• The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe category.
• The applicant must be residing in a tribal area.
• The applicant must be engaged in or willing to establish a self-employment venture through a Nahri Kendra.

> Monetary Benefit

• 50% of the project cost or ₹5,00,000, whichever is less, provided as subsidy.
• The remaining 50% of the project cost is provided as a loan.

> Subsidy Disbursement

• Given in two installments – 60% in the first installment and 40% in the second installment.

> Interest Rate

• Loan at 4% per annum.

> Repayment

• Loan (excluding subsidy) must be repaid in 20 equal installments over 5 years, including interest.
• Option to repay earlier is allowed.

> Beneficiary Contribution

• No upfront contribution required from the beneficiary.
