The "Mukhyamantri Nahri Kendra" was launched by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to empower tribal women by providing them with livelihood opportunities through women-run centers. Under this scheme, tribal women-run groups receive a subsidy covering 50% of project costs and the remaining 50% as a loan at a concessional interest rate.
Who qualifies
- The applicant must be a woman.
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe category.
- The applicant must be residing in a tribal area.
- The applicant must be engaged in or willing to establish a self-employment venture through a Nahri Kendra.
What you get
> Monetary Benefit
- 50% of the project cost or ₹5,00,000, whichever is less, provided as subsidy.
- The remaining 50% of the project cost is provided as a loan.
> Subsidy Disbursement
- Given in two installments – 60% in the first installment and 40% in the second installment.
> Interest Rate
- Loan at 4% per annum.
> Repayment
- Loan (excluding subsidy) must be repaid in 20 equal installments over 5 years, including interest.
- Option to repay earlier is allowed.
> Beneficiary Contribution
- No upfront contribution required from the beneficiary.
