The objective of this scheme is to provide employment opportunities, after training, to persons with disabilities (40% or more), helpless or widowed women, former residents of care institutions, and candidates from SC, OBC, and minority communities in Himachal Pradesh.

The "Skill Up-Gradation with Job/Placement (SUJOP) Scheme", launched on 27th October 2016 by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Himachal Pradesh, aims to provide employment opportunities, after skill training, to persons with disabilities (more than 40%), helpless or widowed women, former residents of Nari Seva Sadan and Bal-Balika Ashram, and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and minority communities through various industrial units.

• The applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
• The applicant should be between 18 and 45 years of age.
• The applicant should have an annual family income of less than ₹2,00,000/-.
• The applicant should have more than 40% disability.
• The applicant should have the minimum educational qualification from a recognized board or university.

• Training fee of amount ₹5,000/- per month for courses ranging from 3 months to 2 years through authorized institutions.
• Living expenses of amount ₹5,000/- per month for residential and self-employed trainees.
• Monthly scholarship of amount ₹1,000/- for non-residential trainees during training.
• Monthly scholarship of amount ₹1,200/- for trainees with disabilities during training.
• After training, a 6-month scholarship of amount ₹1,500/- per month (₹1,800/- per month for trainees with disabilities).
• Authorized institutions provide employment opportunities for at least one year after completion of training.
