What this is

Under this scheme, financial assistance in the form of scholarship shall be granted to the children/wards of workers who are registered under the CBOCWWB on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in 10th, 12th & Graduation.

In detail

The scheme “Scholarship to the Ward of Beneficiary” was started by the Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (CBOCWWB), Labour Department, Chandigarh. Under this scheme, financial assistance in the form of scholarship shall be granted to the children/wards of workers who are registered under the CBOCWWB on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in 10th, 12th & Graduation.

Who qualifies

  • The worker/beneficiary should be working in the Establishment, registered under the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965 and his contribution towards labour welfare fund should regularly been received by the Board.
  • Any worker/beneficiary will be eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme only after 06 months of becoming the beneficiary member of the Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at least for the last six months.
  • The scholarship application will not be entertained on getting a compartment in any of the subjects.
  • In case a scholarship is granted to the children of the workers from any other institution then he will not be entitled to get a scholarship from the Board.
  • If any student who placed at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in National/International games/sports then he will be granted a scholarship without taking into consideration the percentage of marks.
  • The scholarship will be given upto two children of the worker.
  • The applicant should apply for a Scholarship within three months from the date of issue of the mark sheet of the student.
