The "Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration" scheme has been launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry Of Personnel, Public Grievances And Pensions, Government of India. The scheme aims to recognize, acknowledge and reward extraordinary, innovative, and impactful work done by districts, organizations, and civil servants in public administration, with a focus on good governance, qualitative outcomes, and last-mile service delivery.
Who qualifies
- The applicant should be a District, Central Government Organization, State Government Organization, or Implementing Unit.
- The applicant should have implemented the project between 1 April 2020 and 30 September 2022.
- The applicant should demonstrate measurable outcomes across governance, qualitative, and quantitative parameters.
- The applicant should provide evidence of innovation, sustainability, and replicability.
- The applicant should ensure citizen participation (Jan Bhagidari) in the implementation.
- The applicant should be represented by an incumbent officer.
What you get
Benefits:
- A trophy is awarded to the selected district/organization once annually.
- Scroll (certificate of recognition).
- Financial incentive of ₹20,00,000 per awardee.
- The incentive amount is to be used for project implementation or bridging resource gaps in public welfare.
- A letter of appreciation was issued to contributing officers; included in the Performance Appraisal Dossier.
Mode of Disbursement
- The trophy and scroll are physically presented.
- Financial incentives are transferred to the awarded district/organization.
- On the occasion of Civil Services Day (around 21 April).
- One-time award; funds must be utilized for public welfare purposes.
