The Widow Remarriage Scheme under the Government of Himachal Pradesh aims to support the rehabilitation of widows by encouraging men to marry widows through a monetary incentive. Under this scheme, a grant is provided to bona fide Himachali men (above 21 years) and women (above 18 years) at the time of marriage.
Who qualifies
- The widow should have remarried.
- The applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
- Groom should not be less than 21 years of age
- Women should not be less than 18 years of age.
What you get
If any widow re-marries, a cheque of ₹ 20,000/- is given to the women and a Fix Deposit worth ₹ 30,000/- for the 5 years term is given to the couple.
