The scheme “Youth and Eco Club” is implemented under the Samagra Shiksha Programme by the Secondary Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students by organizing programmes and activities such as plastic reduction initiatives, kitchen gardening, etc. along with various competitions to engage and empower students in protecting the environment.
Who qualifies
- All primary, upper primary, and secondary government schools in Uttarakhand are eligible.
What you get
Under the Youth and Eco Club in schools, awareness programmes, competitions, and activities were organized on plastic reduction, kitchen gardening, tree plantation, environmental protection, waste management, cleanliness, and water conservation, etc.
- Bagless Day and Environment Friendly Awareness.
- Awareness Through Skits and Plays.
- Poster makings, Paintings, Slogan writing etc. Competition and "Say No" to Single Use plastic.
- Cleaning Drives of the School and Surrounding and Keeping Toilets Usable.
- Composting Food Waste in the School.
- Planting of Trees in Schools.
